A senior scientist in the Sustainable Intensification Program, International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) who’s research centres on the impacts of climate change on smallholder maize- and wheat-based systems in the tropics with emphasis on nutrient and water use efficiency, soil conservation, climate resilience and greenhouse gas emissions. Currently leading a project aimed at improving estimates of fertiliser-related nitrous oxide emissions from tropical croplands. .Key research areas include Southeast Asia, East and Southern Africa. Serves as CIMMYT’s focal point for the Climate Change Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) research program.
