Biography:

Born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in 1968. BSc in pure biology; MSc in Applied Microbiology from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia, PhD in Applied Microbiology ( University of Pretoria, South Africa); Served as a lecturer of Microbiology (post MSc) at Alemaya University in Ethiopia (2000- 2003) and as a postdoctoral fellow (2007 – 2008) at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. Since 2009 up to now working as a research scientist in the area of biological nitrogen fixation by mainly investigating the roles of symbiotic nitrogen fixing rhizobia in various legumes.
